The hospitality and customer programs are designed to assist residents of Stark County obtain occupational skills through short-term training and support with employment linkage to careers connected to jobs focused in the areas of banking, food services, retail, office and administrative services.
The Micro-Enterprise program is designed to assist residents of Stark County to work in partnership with SCCAA and entrepreneur leaders to obtain training and technical assistance to initiate the first phase of small business development, which include activities such as creation of a business plan, establishing a legal entity, conducting market feasibility research, developing financial projections and a marketing strategy plan.
Each summer, SCCAA provides work opportunities for motivated young adults between the ages of 16-18 to work for the Summer Youth Employment Program. Eligible youth must meet SCCAA income guidelines. Students are provided with an opportunity to work at neighborhood job sites with community organizations and agency programs. During the summer, young adults are taught employ-ability skills and are encouraged to pursue a post-secondary education. In addition to career planning and work experience, students interact with one another and professional youth mentor coaches who assist them in addressing issues related to peer relationships, family, motivation and values.
